Stacy Berlfein

   

I have lived most of my life in Texas, having grown up in Dallas and lived in Austin and now San Antonio.  However, I was born in southern California and have traveled through many parts of the U.S. and the change in scenery has always amazed me.  This interest has passed into my work, which centers primarily around landscape themes, although I have worked in portraiture and the figure in a variety of painting and drawing media (oils, watercolors, acrylics, charcoal, ink, graphite, colored pencil).  I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (Studio Art) from UT Austin, focused on Drawing, Painting, and Photography, and a Master's in Drawing from UTSA. I have been teaching art at UTSA and the Alamo Community Colleges for 7 years and have also taught art to children and adolescents at the Southwest School of Art and at summer camps. My work has been exhibited locally in the Blue Star Contemporary Art Center, the Southwest School of Art, and the Luminaria event.
